SUMMARY:European Week of Healthy & Active Ageing
DESCRIPTION:The European Week of Active & Healthy Ageing (EWAHA) is a joint initiative of the AAL Programme\, EIP on AHA and JPI MYBL. It is taking place online from 2-6 November 2020 and will not only look into the most pressing and emerging consequences of COVID-19 on the older population in Europe\, but will also warm up for the AAL Forum 2021 in Trieste\, Italy. \nThere will be a series of discussions and webinars in which a range of policy leaders and experts on health\, care and ageing from all over Europe will be participating. In addition to a focus on intergenerational solidarity and aligning health and care systems with the needs of ageing populations\, the event will also cover implications for innovative capacity-building in systems and services for healthy ageing. \nFurthermore\, there will be a special session that presents participants from the AAL Smart Ageing Prize and their successes of entrepreneurs in the healthy ageing domain. \n  \nMain topics will be: \n– Battling against ageism and ageing: the case for a new Intergenerational contract and a rethinking of the role of older adults within society \n– The decade of ageing: introduction and perspectives \n– Investments strategies to accelerate market adoption of healthy ageing digital solutions \n– Strategies to build and consolidate AHA regional innovation ecosystems \n– Good life\, Ageing & technology from the perspective of various European countries \n– At the front line: a discussion with European Geriatrics to learn the post Covid-19 effects on older adults and the strategies to avoid future disruptions \n– High Level Political Debate: is Europe politically ready to face future pandemics? \n– Capacity building initiatives in the context of health and care innovation \n– Understanding wellbeing in an ageing society: how appropriate are current measures of wellbeing across the changing life course? \n  \nFind out more about the European Week of Healthy & Active Ageing here. \nSign up for the event here.

DESCRIPTION:Auch heuer wieder wird die mittlerweile bewährte Praxiskonferenz von AAL AUSTRIA organisiert. Sie wird im Rahmen des Jahreskongresses 2020 des Netzwerk Altersmedizin am 12.10.2020 von 14-17 Uhr und am 13.11.2020 von 8:30-10 Uhr abgehalten. Heuer steht der Kongress unter dem Thema COVID-19-Pandemie & Alter: Was wir jetzt lernen müssen. \nAufgrund der derzeitigen Entwicklungen in Bezug auf Covid-19 muss die Veranstaltung gänzlich online über die Bühne gehen. Ab sofort kann man sich für die Online-Übertragung der Konferenz hier registrieren. \nDie 3. AAL-Praxiskonferenz fokussiert auf Lösungen\, die sich in Pandemien bewähren und bietet einen Erfahrungsaustausch aus dem Betrieb von AAL-Lösungen in über 700 österreichischen Haushalten. Sie richtet sich an Gesundheits- und Sozialdienstleister\, Elektro- und IT-Installationsbetriebe (Systemintegratoren) sowie an AAL-Produkt- und -Lösungsanbieter. \nDie AAL-Praxiskonferenz berichtet unter dem Motto „Von der Praxis für die Praxis“ von zahlreichen Erfahrungen\, die schwerpunktmäßig auf die besonderen Herausforderungen und Potenziale in Pandemien eingehen. Dabei werden ganz unterschiedliche Bereiche abgedeckt wie zum Beispiel Unterstützung von Menschen mit Demenz\, Sturzprävention\, Telerehabilitation und Teletherapie oder Maßnahmen gegen Vereinsamung. \nBesonderes Augenmerk wird dabei auf erfolgreiche und erfolgversprechende Lösungen gesetzt\, die in den bisherigen Konferenzen auch durch die begleitende Ausstellung „AAL made in Austria“ illustriert worden sind. \nEine Ausstellung vor Ort wird heuer leider nicht möglich sein\, aber es besteht für bis zu 10 AAL-Produkthersteller oder -Lösungsanbieter die Möglichkeit\, ihr AAL-Angebot in einem Drei-Minuten Pitch online vorzustellen. \nBitte wenden Sie sich bei Interesse spätestens bis zum 20.10. direkt an uli.waibel@aal.at. SUMMARY:Second Krems Dementia Conference + AIDEM 2020
DESCRIPTION:The Second Krems Dementia Conference about “Prevention\, Timely detection and Awareness of dementia” will be held online from 16-18 November 2020. This event will bring together persons with dementia\, representatives of Alzheimer Associations\, researchers and policy makers to work on meaningful preventive strategies\, bringing timely diagnostic and counselling services to persons with dementia and their families and motivate society to support these families and encourage them to stay in touch with life. In addition to that\, there will be discussions about the consequences of COVID-19 for people with dementia and their families. \nWithin three days\, there will be a variety of interesting keynotes\, statements and discussions that not only focus on preventive strategies of dementia but are also trying to attract researcher and participants from Eastern Europe to encourage the cooperation between East and West. \n  \nParallel to those workshops\, the First International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence for Prevention & Intervention in Dementia Care (AIDEM 2020) organized by Dr. Lucas Paletta will be held online on 17 November 2020. The aim of the AIDEM symposium is to discuss the integration of intelligent assistive technologies (IAT) into care of people with dementia as well as its challenges. Drawing from existing state-of-the-art\, AIDEM will suggest novel technologies and services for the design and adoption aimed at increased and equitable access for persons suffering from dementia. \nThe event includes outstanding keynote speeches from stakeholders in technology\, science and healthcare as well as state-of-the-art scientific presentations and a demonstration session. SUMMARY:Healthy Ageing Forum: UK – Austria
DESCRIPTION:The UK Science and Innovation Network (SIN) is organizing an event on Digital Health with a special focus on “Ageing Society” and AAL. The event will take place virtually via Cisco Webex on 26. November 2020\, 10:30 – 14:00. \nThe focus of this event will be on opportunities and challenges posed by an increasingly ageing society. The event will bring together businesses\, policymakers and researchers from the UK and Austria to discuss the impacts of an aging population and to promote the exchange of best practice in public healthcare\, policy decision making and commercial innovations in both countries. \nAs both the UK and Austrian governments have set out national strategies aimed at deploying innovative digital technologies to ensure that people live longer and healthier lives\, remain independent for longer and continue to participate in their communities\, the event is also aiming at establishing partnerships among the UK and AUSTRIA. \nThere will be a variety of notable speakers from the UK as well as from Austria.
