SUMMARY:Webinar: European Dialogue on Active & Healthy Ageing - Consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on informal carers in Europe
DESCRIPTION:As informal carers are all too often forgotten by policymakers and institutional health & care systems\, the AAL Programme is organizing a webinar on 15th February 2021\, 15:00h\, about the outcomes of Eurocarers´ survey on informal carers in Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic. \nWhile especially people over 65 with pre-existing diseases and disabled people are most affected by the COVID-19 crisis\, informal carers as well as professional carer organisations have been overwhelmed by the pandemic. Due to the current health crisis additional pressure is being put on the care system around Europe and informal carers often find themselves alone without being able to count on external public or private support. DESCRIPTION:Viele Menschen wünschen sich\, auch mit zunehmendem Alter und gesundheitlichen Einschränkungen weiter in ihrer Wohnung bleiben zu können. Digitaler Technik wird das Potenzial zugeschrieben\, dies zu ermöglichen. Daher sind viele ältere Menschen oder ihre Angehörigen dazu bereit\, technische Assistenzsysteme oder so genannte Smart Home-Technologien anzuschaffen und zu nutzen. Oft scheitert dies jedoch an geringen digitalen Kompetenzen\, mangelnder Information und oder auch an den Anschaffungs- und Betriebskosten. \nIn der Online-Veranstaltung „Smart wohnen“ des deutschen Bundesministeriums für Familie\, Senioren\, Frauen und Jugend (BMFSFJ) am 17. Februar 2021 soll aufgezeigt werden\, wie digitale Assistenzsysteme in der Wohnung den Alltag erleichtern können und wie diese Technik für ältere Menschen zugänglich gemacht werden kann. Die Bundesseniorenministerin Franziska Giffey wird mit Bürgerinnen und Bürgern über deren Technikerfahrungen sprechen. Auch Expertinnen und Experten aus Kommunen\, der Wohnungswirtschaft und der Wissenschaft kommen zu Wort. \nDiese Veranstaltung ist der dritte Teil einer Veranstaltungsreihe des BMFSFJ zu Themen des Achten Altersberichts.
